I LOVE the sourdough here!! 💯 It’s amazing. The only downside is that you have to get there early because they sell out quick 🏃♀️💨. Other than that, the place is great and the bread is worth every penny!! 🙌

Really solid bakery! The sourdough is fantastic, and their cookies and muffins are also worth trying. Sometimes they run out of stock on busy days, which can be frustrating, but overall, it’s one of the best bakeries in the area.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes sourdough different from regular bread?
Sourdough is unique because it’s naturally fermented using wild yeast and beneficial bacteria from a starter. This slow fermentation process not only gives sourdough its signature tangy flavor and chewy texture, but it also improves its digestibility and shelf life compared to bread made with commercial yeast.
How should I store my sourdough bread to keep it fresh?
For the best freshness, store your sourdough in a linen or paper bag at room temperature. This helps preserve the crust’s texture. Avoid plastic, as it can trap moisture and make the bread soggy. If you don’t plan to finish the bread within a few days, slice it and freeze the pieces in an airtight container. You can toast or warm the slices when you’re ready to enjoy them!
What are the benefits of eating sourdough bread?
Sourdough offers numerous health benefits. Thanks to the fermentation process, it’s easier to digest, as the gluten and phytic acid are partially broken down. This makes vital nutrients like iron, magnesium, and zinc more accessible to your body. Sourdough is also lower on the glycemic index, which means it can help keep blood sugar levels steady. The presence of prebiotics and probiotics supports gut health by promoting healthy bacteria. Sourdough is a clean, natural bread, free from preservatives and additives, making it a great choice for anyone looking for wholesome, minimally processed options.
Do you offer gluten-free sourdough products?
While we don’t currently offer gluten-free sourdough, some people with gluten sensitivities find sourdough easier to digest due to the fermentation process that breaks down some of the gluten. However, it’s important to note that our sourdough still contains gluten and is not suitable for those with celiac disease.
Can I place a custom order for events or special occasions?
Absolutely! We love creating custom orders for parties, events, or gatherings. Whether it’s a special loaf or a custom selection of sweets, text us at 571-601-0765 or email order@wrightsdailybread.com to discuss your needs.
How long will my sourdough bread stay fresh?
Counter Storage (3-5 Days)
• Best Option: Keep your bread in a breathable environment. Wrap it in a clean, dry kitchen towel or store it in a paper bag. This helps retain its crusty exterior while keeping the inside soft and fresh. You can also place it in a bread box.
• Avoid: Storing in plastic, as it can make the crust soggy and speed up mold growth.
Refrigerator Storage (1-2 Weeks)
• Tip: Refrigeration isn’t ideal for sourdough, as it tends to dry out the bread faster. However, if you must store it in the fridge, wrap the loaf tightly in plastic wrap or foil to help preserve moisture.
• Reheat: Before eating, warm the bread in the oven at 300°F for 10-15 minutes to bring back some of its texture and flavor.
Freezer Storage (Up to 3 Months)
• Best Method: Let the bread cool completely before freezing. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, then place it in a freezer-safe bag, squeezing out as much air as possible.
• Slicing Tip: Pre-slice the bread before freezing so you can take out only what you need without thawing the entire loaf.
• Thawing: To thaw, leave the bread at room temperature for a few hours or place it in the oven at 300°F for 10-15 minutes. If you’re in a hurry, pop a frozen slice in the toaster!
Do you offer delivery or pickup options?
Yes! We offer delivery upon request for an additional $15, and pickup is available every Sunday. When you place your order, you can select whichever option is most convenient for you.
What ingredients are in your sourdough bread?
Our traditional sourdough loaves are made with just four simple ingredients: King Arthur organic bread flour, filtered water, our wild sourdough starter, and pink Himalayan salt. We prioritize clean, high-quality ingredients to create the best possible flavor and texture.
How do I rehydrate your ‘Jane Dough’ sourdough starter?
Rehydrating our ‘Jane Dough’ starter is simple! Follow the instructions included with your 10g starter packet. Combine the starter with water and flour over several days, and soon you’ll have a bubbly, active starter ready to bake your own sourdough at home.
Can I pre-order or set up regular deliveries?
Yes! We accept pre-orders for both pickups and deliveries. We’re also working on a subscription service to make it easy to receive fresh sourdough regularly. Stay tuned for more details, or reach out to discuss your preferences! 11. What flavors of bread and treats do you offer? Our menu changes with the seasons, but you can always find a variety of sourdough loaves, sweet rolls, cookies, and cakes. Be sure to check our website for our current offerings, and don’t forget to explore our Compound Butters and Wright’s Savory Blends to add extra flavor to your sourdough experience!

Sourdough is incredibly versatile! Enjoy it on its own, or pair it with butter, cheeses, soups, or sandwiches. To take things up a notch, try our signature Compound Butters or Wright’s Savory Blends, perfect for adding a gourmet touch to your bread.
Can I freeze sourdough bread?
Yes! You can freeze sourdough to enjoy later. Slice the bread before freezing so you can easily defrost just what you need. Store the slices in an airtight container for up to 3 months. When ready to eat, simply warm the bread in the toaster or oven for the best texture.
